Business Summer Intern Application for Andros Innovations
Location: Boston, MA | Type: Full-Time
The Mission: Retire The Haber-Bosch Process.
Humanity relies on the Haber-Bosch process to feed 4 billion people, but it consumes ~1% of the world's energy and spews gigatons of carbon dioxide. At Andros, we are building the reactor to end this dependency. We are developing a decentralized, low-pressure ammonia synthesis platform to decarbonize the future of food and fuel. We need a Business Intern who wants to make a meaningful impact at a real company. You will plug directly into the commercial team to hunt for customers, analyze market dynamics, and help secure non-dilutive funding.
The Role
You will stand at the intersection of Market Strategy, Operations, and Finance. You will be responsible for building the prospect lists that drive our sales, researching regulatory incentives, and helping model the economics of green ammonia production.
What you will actually do:
Market Intelligence & Lead Gen: You will execute deep-dive research to identify specific companies in the maritime, niche agriculture, and chemical distribution sectors. You will build the "Hit List" of pilot customers for the BD team.
Grant & Policy Support: Deep Tech runs on non-dilutive funding. You will assist in drafting narratives and gathering data for DOE, NSF, and state grant applications.
Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) Support: You will help refine our internal cost models. You will research component costs, energy prices, and logistics rates to make our "Levelized Cost of Ammonia" models more accurate.
Operational Scaffolding: You will assist the CEO with investor updates, pitch deck refinements, and the operational logistics of running a fast-moving startup.
Must-Haves:
Currently enrolled in an MBA program or a top-tier Undergraduate program (Business, Engineering, or Economics focus).
Research Grit: You know how to find answers that aren't on the first page of Google. You are comfortable reading technical white papers and market reports.
Data Fluency: You are an Excel/Google Sheets power user. You can build a clean model and present data clearly.
Self-Starter: You don't wait for instructions. If you see a gap in our data, you fill it.
Communication: You can write clear, concise business prose. You can distill complex technical concepts into a one-page brief.
Nice-to-Haves:
Background in Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Energy.
Experience with financial modeling or venture capital diligence.
Previous experience in a hardware startup or incubator environment.
Why Andros?
Solve a Century-Defining Challenge: You will be working on one of the most significant hurdles in modern thermodynamics: breaking the nitrogen triple bond efficiently. This is not incremental optimization; it is a fundamental shift in how the world produces energy and food. Your work will directly contribute to decarbonizing gigatons of carbon dioxide emissions.
The Deep Tech Frontier: You will be working at the cutting edge of chemical manufacturing and systems engineering. We are deploying novel hardware systems that move beyond standard industry practices. You will have access to the resources and tooling required to bridge the gap between theoretical chemistry and industrial application.
Mission-Driven Velocity: We operate with the urgency that the climate crisis demands. You will join a lean, high-caliber team where iteration cycles are measured in days, not quarters. We value rapid hypothesis testing, data-driven decisions, and scientific rigor.
About Andros Innovations
Andros Innovations is a pioneer in advanced chemical engineering, redefining the global ammonia supply chain to fuel a decarbonized future. Our proprietary reactor technology disrupts the century-old Haber-Bosch process, enabling the efficient production of low-carbon ammonia at low temperatures and atmospheric pressure, unlocking a scalable path to green fertilizer and sustainable marine fuel.
Supported by Activate.org, Greentown Labs, Third Derivative, Massachusetts Center for Clean Energy and others Andros has been recognized as a top emerging deep-tech startup within our first year. Andros has received awards from MIT’s Climate and Energy Prize, Yale’s Climate Innovation Summit, The University of Connecticut and FORGE, for innovation and climate impact. We are transitioning from breakthrough science to industrial scale, building the technology needed to feed the next billion people and power the heavy industries of tomorrow without emissions.
